Scent is a powerful human sense. It can evoke fond memories, give you a confidence boost and even build human connections. So, when the founder of Smooch Body came to Soul Studio with an idea to launch a new fragrance brand for young women, we knew the link between self confidence and smelling great would resonate with her target audience.

The challenge? Selling fragrances direct to consumer that can't be physically smelt prior to purchase.
In a time of rapid DTC growth, imagery and video play a high value role in communicating the product benefits and brand value. For this reason we leaned on these tools to evoke the Smooch scents visually and help to create an emotional connection with the brand. We engaged local team Morning Swim Studio to create abundantly styled product imagery and videos to capture the essence of each fragrance, featuring ingredients to represent the fragrance notes and props to depict the “vibe” of each scent.
Adding Personality
Research shows that Gen Z and Millennials value authenticity and individuality, so we decided to tap into this by creating unique personalities for each fragrance. Inspired by the founders' own muses in her life, we crafted a story around each scent, designing the packaging, copywriting, and even styling for the photoshoot around these personalities.
